Ungrouped vs Grouped Data

So today Max taught us about the wonderfulness data groups.

Grouped Data- frequency --- table
Boundaries Class Marks frequencies

so i am not exactly sure what it all means but i do know how to do it on the calculator so thats a good thing!!

Just do it the same way ( on the calculator) but you have two tables and then put L1,L2 and the handy dandy tool does it all for ya..

To clear the lists just press 2nd + 4

Population Standard Deviation

Measure of variability within a data set
*** Range is also a measure of variability****

population standard divination measures how varied the data set is relative to itself...
So i not exactly sure what it all means but i do know how to find it on the calculator and right now that's all that matters !! ha

Variability+Statistical Anaysis

Stats

Median- Middle of #, when ascending or descending. N=12, than median is the mean of the 9th divided 10th values.
Mean- x bar, the sum of all the x values, divided by n capital sigma
Mode-Most frequently occurring ( mode may not exist or data may have multiple modes)

Probability!!!

So i thought it was about time to write something about what we have been learning for the last month or so.. (We had our test on it last week Thursday).
Probability = sample spaces/complementary events/ independent/ dependent events..
5/8 .625 62.5% 5 chances out of 8
Independent/Dependent Events
It helped to think RESET button or DON'T RESET..
Factorial Notation
-permutation- ordering in which order matters
-combination-ordering doesn't matter
Mutually Exclusive and Inclusive Events
- Exclusive evnets have nothing in common..
p(a) + p(b)
-Inclusive events have things in common... p(a) + p(b)-p(a and b)

Driveway Question.

Today we had a homework check on that driveway on the question that we have been working on for the last few classes. The main idea for the question was to change the feet into cubic yards and so on. There are two methods one using gravel and concrete and the second one using curshed limestone , sand , paving stone. We had to find the cost of each materials. 1 cubic yard =27 cubic feet.

Friday Morning Pop Quiz

Just want i wanted on a firday morning a personal finance quiz. But thankfully it was not worth marks!! It was more of in class questions .. Oh how teachers can put pure horror into their poor innocent students by just say two words "POP QUIZ"!!
But i hate to admit it actually helped. I think it work us all up.. Mr. Max must have google how to scar your grade 12 students into doing personal finance questions..

Templates

Today we ran through templates:Excel Spreadsheets. So there are 3 things that go hand in hand with that they are:
  1. Net Work:Statment(spreedsheet)
  2. Debt Equity Ratio (Calculation)
  3. G.D.S.R.=Gross Debt Service Ratio(Calculation)
Measures of Financial "Heath"

Network=total asset(own) - Total liabilities(owe)
***Net worth can be negative, and is dynamic, throughout ones life***

Debt Equity Ratio= DxE =(total liabilities-mortgage) divided by network x 100
***Most desirable DxE ratio is 0%****

G.D.S.R=(monthly rent/mortgage+ monthly taxes+ monthly heat) divided by gross household monthly salary x 100
Then we went through a question with the class. This stuff is really good to know for when going into the world and when i have to deal all this good stuff. .

Unit 3, Personal Finance

Okay so today we are learning personal finance. BIG IDEA use a machine answer complicated money problems.
TVM SOLVER EXCEL WEB APPLETS
So the idea of this all is to figure out the finances for purchasing something.
appreciates-worth more later depreciates- worth less later.
Mr. Max will be handing out some practice questions.

Monday Oct 7th

Today we didn't have class we had post secondary day! A bunch of schools came and try to convince us to come to their school. They all are the same..

Unit 2, Sequences , Oct 2nd

Today we just worked on thoes questions. They are due on monday so thats whats for homework.

Unit 2, Sequences, Oct 1st

We were given 10 questions and had to do 5 of them. hopeful the questions will help me understand it better.

Unit 2, Sequences

Today we went trhough the other two ways to solve the problems.. The other two ways was shodor and swquence mode. Shodor is a program on the computer to solve the question. Sequence Mode is on the calculator. I am not sure what way i will use to figure them out..

Unit 2, Sequences+Series

So today we learned about Sequences and Series it was very new. Hopefully it will be okay after we learn about it more. There seems to be two accepts .
  1. Geometric Arithmetic, Prediction, Stability, Exponential Growth
2. Fractal Analysis, Perimeter, Areas, Volumes

Fractal= A rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is a reduced- size copy of whole
Now there are 4 ways of solving theses problems. We were showed only 2 ways and our homework is to find the other ways.

Unit 1 TEST

The test actually went well so hopefully i got a good mark.
3 of Spider-Man's mortal enemies are:
  1. The Beetle
  2. Spider-Slayer
  3. Green Goblin

Unit 1, Test Review

Test Tomorrow!!!
Today we just went through what will be on the test and some of the old exam questions. It was helpful going through some of the questions in the old exams. So need to make my formula sheet and study for the test. Hopefully the test will go swell.

Sept 23rd

Today we went through the questions that where for homework.
Directly no nodes-One Leg-No layovers
Indirect through one node-Two legs-One layover
Indirect through two node-Three legs-Two layovers
It helps me to think of flying from Minot to Ashville then having layovers as nodes.
We also went through some more Directed Networks where we did the same as yesterday but at the end because, the question asked back to itself using no more than two nodes. At the end when you found all the matrix's you have to add [A]+[A]2+[A]3=
Exactly- one matrix
At Most- Add some matrix's

Unit 1, Networks&Matrices

Today we learnt Networks and Matrices. At first it was extremely frustrating. There is Directe vs Non Directed
(one way street) (two-way street)
-so what we looked at was this direct route which from to
-than a indirect through one node from - to
-than from - - to.. Very confusing!
But then the calulator saved the day and all you need to do is put the first matrix into there and then ^2 and ^3 !!!!!

Unit 1. Exercise 5

Today we learned more about Matrix Multiplication but, just in a more complex way...Yay.....
So what it was all about was figuring out where to place the matrix's so that equation will work out and that it will be successful..
Nonsense ----> Nonsense
In Out
It's a bit confusing right now and i am not sure if i got the hang out it right now but, i just need to do more practice questions.

We did question #2 on Exercise 5 on our own and this is how it went down..
The question asked the weekly production of kitchen and bedroom suites..
(a) [30 10] [3] =[170]
[40 15] [8] [240]
(*You have to make sure you position the matrix right or else you can get nothingness*)

There are 3 factories for type A and 8 factories for type B. So we had to use matrix multiplication to find the weekly production. Which the answer is 170 Kitchen and 240 Bedrooms.

(b) Find the total market value of goods purchased.
SO take the weekly production and multiplied it by what the kitchen and bedroom sell for..
[170 240] [1500] = $783.000 total value.
[2200]

So the key for this is to think through the question logically to where to place the matrix
